No Benefit Through Enquiry – A Poem

January 11, 2018January 11, 2018 / Holly / 4 Comments

No Benefit Through Enquiry – A Poem Do not ponder on the analysis of a situation, Do not delve too deeply into any question, Do not read and reread into any motive, Do not inquire into the meaning of a statement. Remain content with every answer, Remain dumb to double-purpose, Remain satisfied with unexplained … Continue reading No Benefit Through Enquiry – A Poem

Footprints Poem

October 31, 2017October 31, 2017 / Holly / 5 Comments

Footprints [author unknown; see footnote] One night I dreamed a dream. As I was walking along the beach with my Lord, Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, One belonging to me and one to my Lord. After the last … Continue reading Footprints Poem

Out Of Control ~ A Poem

October 27, 2017October 27, 2017 / Holly / 4 Comments

Out Of Control Lethargy invades the space of my physical being and ebbing waves of wasted energy escape along the surface of my skin Tiredness controls my thoughts which hold me prisoner no motivation to erase the memories no wish to love no strength to hate Forgiveness cannot exist in the cesspool of indifference … Continue reading Out Of Control ~ A Poem

In The Chicken Joint ~ A Satirical Poem

October 19, 2017October 27, 2017 / Holly / 2 Comments

In The Chicken Joint – A Satirical Poem Just ordinary people leading ordinary lives Just pink and brown and white folk Snacking on their chicken Chomping at their chips Sucking on their softdrinks And mucking up their fingers The coleslaw a gooey mess shoved aside. What sort of people come here? Why so many … Continue reading In The Chicken Joint ~ A Satirical Poem

Discovering Farewell ~ A Poem

October 7, 2017October 9, 2017 / Holly / 1 Comment

Discovering Farewell Somewhere close by, the frantic honking of geese Answered rudely by a sleepy donkey. The night sky was clear, the moon like cheese Our warm breath mingled, so that where we sat all misty. So much time gone by, in which to fill minutes with conversation, Yet we merely skimmed surfaces of our … Continue reading Discovering Farewell ~ A Poem

You And Me ~ A Poem

October 4, 2017October 9, 2017 / Holly / 1 Comment

You And Me Hey! Sunshine, Don’t carry this sad burden all alone, Don’t forget that you have me. Show not your lonely countenance to the world, Because, it is not just you – it is also me. Something quite innocent, turned into a loving spontaneity. Do not try to suppress this, allow your white dove … Continue reading You And Me ~ A Poem

Hope Regained ~ A Poem

September 20, 2017October 9, 2017 / Holly / 1 Comment

This poem was originally written without a title; a second version was written a few years later, given the title “Hope Regained”. This is the original version, with title added.   * Hope Regained All alone, inside ice cold and sad tonight, here in this empty room; Listening to the sounds of passing cars and … Continue reading Hope Regained ~ A Poem

Love Spent In A Moment – A Poem

September 16, 2017October 9, 2017 / Holly / 1 Comment

Love Spent In A Moment Love struck as sharp as lightning; So what if merely for an instant? It clutched me to its sensual bosom, Held my thoughts, and soul, imprisoned. Infatuation, in this game, Wants its name to come before all else, Yet this time I know that it is Love Who has captured … Continue reading Love Spent In A Moment – A Poem

A little bit of #Edinburgh #architecture, complete with #Australian gum (#eucalyptus) tree out the front. Loving the #blue door and #classic lines. Buildings in Edinburgh just need a bit of a scrub to lighten them up a bit, methinks. Would be a much more positive vibe if the stone was its original golden hue. But that's just me being pedantic. The bones are good and the elegance always strikes me. 🏛 . . #Art #Travel #Design #Structure #Facades #ArtHistory #NewTown #Landscape #Cityscapes #SeeTheWorld #BitsOfBuildings #WritersOfInstagram
Recently I travelled to #Israel, for the first time, with a group of people who were on the @tbnuk & @tbn #HopeAndGrace Tour. We set off in our coach on Day 2, the first day having been all about travel and transfers from the UK to our base for the week, our first stop the #MountOfOlives. After visiting The Jewish Cemetery, we walked down to The Garden of Gethsemane, a place of deep meaning that nestles on the hill opposite The Temple Mount in #Jerusalem. Tuesday 6 March 2018. 🇮🇱💙🇮🇱 . . #Travel #Adventure #TBNIsraelTour #TBNIsrael2018 #HopeAndGraceTour #WritersOfInstagram #TheGardenOfGethsemane
