Was today typical?

I have been pondering this question, given that we are now into a new month and I am processing a journey of deeply personal growth.

A surprise parcel arrived for me a few days ago and in it was a sweet little box of inspiration cards, entitled “You Got This”. It took me a while to figure out who had sent me the thoughtful gift.

I was so touched to discover that the sender is a special friend, a lady on a similar journey to mine. Our mutual challenges unite and connect us, through great understanding and the new life dance we are learning.

For a while, I have been negotiating a series of significant life waves. My loyal Readers will have noted that my blogposts have been few and far between, for at least a couple of years.

It has been a season of learning to love and to appreciate my life journey more, to increase self care and to more graciously receive. I have had lots of lessons to learn, as I traverse the path back to reconnection with the part of me that was lost.

It is easy to lose ourselves in the busyness and the pressures of life, to forget to practise vital love for self, when we are preoccupied with love and care for others. It is such a distraction from taking a look inside and checking in with how to meet our own needs and happiness.

I started today as usual, with my quiet time and delicious cup of Clipper organic Earl Grey Tea, which is one of my particular favourites. I love that the teabags have no plastic content and that the tea’s organic production makes it so much healthier for us.

After reading through Chapter 31 of the Book Of Proverbs, in The Message Bible, I sat mindfully observing what I’d read and taking in the enormity of its meaning. I laughed, as I noted the contrast between the first and second parts of the chapter. I love the description of the Proverbs 31 Wife. Her brilliance makes me smile.

Since receiving my little pack of “You Got This” cards, I’ve been loving selecting a couple to savour the words of each day, to lift, guide and inspire!
