This is one of my favourite roses in all the world …

And I have no idea what it is called, but I believe that it is a very old variety.

This particular variety of rose blooms once each Summer and, when it does, it flowers stunningly. Here, I’m delighting in it on the terrace in Mum’s garden.

I call my own little rose like this “Mummy’s Rose”, because our mother gave me a teeny rooted cutting from her garden one day, knowing how much I adore this rose shrub in bloom.

My little rose ‘offspring’ sits happily in a small terracotta pot in our organic garden and every year presents a few very precious blooms that always make me so happy to see.

The fragrance of this variety is quite dreamy, heavenly, and so perfect … the real fragrance of “Rose”.

I feel so blessed to have experiences like this.
