What Have You Been Putting Off Doing And Why?

That question came like a lighting bolt, when I saw it in the WordPress Daily Writing Prompt in the blogosphere today!

What have you been putting off doing? Why?

Oh my goodness, if you only knew the things I’ve been putting off doing and why! I can’t go into all of that, the story is too long and complex, but I can share a little of the current reason for the season of overwhelm.

Like others I know (comforting), I have been wanting to get all sorts done and put out there to help people, but I keep getting in my own way … might as well take ownership! That is the place to start, after all.

Do you have that going on too?

What have you been putting off doing? Why?

The fastest way for us to climb out of stuck mode, is to acknowledge that we get in our own way!

Truth is, I have been surfing some big life waves – big, big, big ones – and most days am very, very tired, which means that each thing I tackle takes careful focus and determined application in order to succeed. When we are having to work really hard to do most things that we do, that does not help, of course … it takes longer than it would otherwise. What it does do, however, is keep us humble and it teaches us resilience and to have sharpened wits about us.

Rest is vital and so is self care, which I have written about before … and I need to attend to that daily, too, as we all ought. For anyone who wishes to function at a high level, self care is a must, and so is it an absolute prerequisite for overcoming stress and for dealing with life’s very big waves.

Are you getting the self care that you need, so that you can be at your best? Are you maintaining a level of joy that feeds your soul? This is so healing for us and so important for our wellbeing.

To feed my intellect and to learn alongside others in community, I have been attending a number of training sessions online, learning more about funnels (as opposed to websites and blogs!) and how we can best employ funnels in our online pursuits and any and all business ventures. This is a subject that I have been revisiting with determined effort, having begun the journey in 2019 and then unfortunately becoming railroaded in my progress in 2021 … but I am crawling back and slowly gaining momentum!

In addition to learning more on the subject of funnels and how brilliant they are, I have been super surprised to be invited to be an Ambassador for Clickfunnels! That lovely invitation came right out of left field (in late July) and I was absolutely delighted to accept the privileged honorary role, along with a small number of other women and men who have joined the international Ambassador ranks too. ClickFunnels is a great company, founded by Russell Brunson and Todd Dickerson, established in September 2014, with a brilliant vibe and ethos. The company has a phenomenal new platform and version of the funnel software, offering a range of new tools to support any venture and create automated sales flow and optimal service to customers. It is an exciting and interesting company to be around.

You might already know that I am also an independent Affiliate for ClickFunnels, and have been since October 2019, so this role as an Ambassador within the international funnel creating community lends an additional string to my little bow. I am very grateful for this recognition and it is an honour that I feel carries enormous responsibility. It would be an absolute pleasure to introduce you and to show you around the software and the many additional features they offer as part of your ClickFunnels membership, if you would like that.

Apart from keeping out of mischief by learning various software related things, I have been attending several events to refresh my mind in the promotional arena and to increase my knowledge about all things marketing and selling online.

The mentor I’ve been most interested to learn from, is Russell Brunson, who is sharing many of his tips, as well as the personal development writings and focus on various aspects of life, that he is now particularly interested in, through his new company called Secrets Of Success. Indeed there are plans afoot to create a significant personal development library, museum and event centre based in Boise (Idaho), which you can learn more about in this interesting documentary called “Bibliomania”.

Earlier today, I was reminded of a blogpost that I had written, about setting up a WordPress website for HM EVENT PROMOTIONS, my own little venture, and was amazed to discover that it was exactly four years ago!! No kidding. On 12 October 2020, HM EVENT PROMOTIONS went live on the WordPress platform, complete with its own domain name. That’s quite incredible to me, how quickly time has flown and also to think about what these last four years have held … quite an extraordinary journey!

I guess this has turned into more of a blogpost about what I have been doing, rather than what I have been putting off doing, but I promise that there are things that I am still wanting to achieve and need to somewhat urgently! These include creating my first course (click here to learn how you can do so too) and also a number of other things that I hope would be of value to my audience.

So, if you would like to be kept in the loop, please make sure that you have signed up to receive my Newsletter, as that is where you are most likely to hear about those particular offers.

Otherwise, there is a string of items on my ‘At Home’ list of things to attend … and we shall leave those for mentioning another day!

Happy Autumn to you, in the northern hemisphere, and Happy Spring to all in the south.

Mindfully,

Holly x
