I attended one of Robert McKee‘s weekend seminars in London, during the latter part of 1989 / early 1990 (cannot quite recall), on screenwriting. We studied the “Casablanca” film script and filming technique. Memorably, John Cleese was a fellow ‘student’ at the event. I remember it as a very special weekend and highly enlightening, enlivening and informative.

INDIA HICKS

I learnt recently, while watching an interview that my Aunt had shared with me, that India Hicks has written several books.

What I also learnt, at the end of my schooling years, once I had turned eighteen in 1980 and met my father and immediate family on his side, is that I am descended from the Mountbattens.

Our connection is distant, but I am also related to Edwina Mountbatten, who is India Hicks’ grandmother.

The synchronicity and the stories are incredible.

At the time of writing, India Hicks‘ latest book is called An Entertaining Story. It promises to be just that!

My darling husband has bought it for me, as a lovely surprise.
